As of today, we are under an order from Governor Abbot that limits social gatherings to 10 people. This will prohibit us from practicing and playing games until the order has passed. The Governor’s order is in effect until midnight April 3.
At this point, we have no intention of cancelling the season. We can start as late as May 2 and allow every team to get a significant umber of games in. As it stands, we are already invested in this season. Teams have been drafted, uniforms have been issued and fees have been paid. While we are still planning for an April 4 start date, we will concede that we may have to start later and we will adjust our schedule accordingly. If games can not start by May 2, we will begin the cancellation/refund process. Until then no request for refund or cancellation will be considered.
Please understand that there is no contingency plan for this type of situation because our generation hasn’t seen anything like it. We are doing our best to be optimistic and uphold our responsibility to our community by trying to get games played as soon as possible. We will continue to abide by CDC recommendations and we will not do anything to risk the well-being of our players or their families. But we will also not give in and cancel the season until we know there is no other option. So please be patient and understand that we are constantly monitoring the latest developments and when there is information to be shared, it will be communicated to you.
